Abstract. Spatial evolution of Bună Ziua Neighbourhood from
the city of Cluj-Napoca between 2003 and 2016. The study analyzes the
evolutionary features of Bună Ziua Neighbourhood from the city of Cluj-Napoca in
a short time frame, but full of intense urban changes. The data used in the
analyse have been acquired by vectorising the relevant information based on the
images from Google Earth at different moments and by field mapping (using the
application CarryMap from Android) of some urban features (the function and the
typology of residential buildings). The correlated analysis of the evolution of
the street network and constructed areas has led to the identification of two
main development patterns: the evolution by nucleation and by densification.
Quantitative spatial data have been analyzed in correlation with local urban
norms, the impact of the implementation of urban zonal plans (UZP) and the
reaction of the human community affected by such projects.
