Abstract: - Vulnerability assessment of the geomorphological risk processes and risk management in the context of urban development. The case of Caransebeș municipality. This study aims to identify and analyze, within the prosperous urban area of Caransebeș municipality, the main existing interractions between natural processes and in some cases, the anthropic activities such as agriculture practices, infrastructure development or industrial development. These interractions have developed in many cases in geomorphological risks such as torrential erossion, landslides, surface erossion or sloughing (which have always been a major problem for the entire Banat region) - all of these, in the context of a sustainable urban development of the above-mentioned town, as the regional main urban centre of the regional system of Caransebeș. The point we have started from was firstly to identify the main factors that caused the actual developing processes, then we analyzed their spatial distribution within the administrative territory of the town. Also, we came with some control and management solutions for these processes. Some of these solutions are linked to technical structures, afforestation or draining systems.
