Abstract:The sense of belonging and identity in defining and delmiting the
Codrului District. The Codrului District by its specificity and complexity
of the interrelationships with neighouring territories raises major problems
regarding the delimitation of the area that clearly defines it. One of the key
methods in the delimitation of the analyzed territory is the criterion of the
sense of belonging which, by combination with other criteria considered, may
render a more accurate definition of the particular area it covers. These
assumptions taken into account, the main aim of this study was to delineate the
territory for the Codrului District using the analysis based on sense of
belonging and identity as the main research method. The practical application of
this method was done through direct and indirect research -based telephone
survey technique, raw data processing and interpretation. Using this research
method, we identified very different territorial areas in terms of sense of
belonging to the local area in which the subject livesThe interpretation of the
results obtained as a whole allowed for the identification of spatial boundaries
based on TAU (territorial administrative unit) limits, in particular, and
natural elements (water courses, floodplains) in special cases, boundaries
within which the life of woodlanders’ community evolves.
