Abstract:
Viewpoints on the development of village limits in Jilavele. A
cartographical outlook. The mapping of an historical timeframe concerning the
evolution of a geographical territory, object or phenomenon can be achieved by
using cartographical documents as a starting point, these documents being an
important resource for their identification and localization. This article’s
intention is the spatial and temporal re-enactment of human settlements in
Jilavele, from a cartographical perspective. We used in our analysis documents
dating from 1895 until 1991. To this we added data from 2005’s orthophotomap,
using throughout the entire process open-source software applications.
