Abstract: Environmental influences on pastures
favourability in Bihor county The evaluation of pastures favourability for
various usages and exploitations represents a complex process, necessitating
interdisciplinary studies and a complex database, to depict in detail all the
environmental factors which concur to this framing. The main objective of this
study is framing, in different favourability classes (high, medium, low), the
lots presently used as pastures. GIS technology was utilized in order to gather
a relevant database of environmental factors, such as climatic factors (the
average air temperature, the average annual rate of rainfall), soil features
(soil type, texture, humus, pH), relief features (altitude, slope, aspect). In
this manner, we were able to make correlations, identify the spatial variation
of the above-mentioned factors, as well as accomplish a statistic analysis and
framing on quality classes of the 12,951 lots used as pastures in Bihor county.
